Control Board Firmware Flashing Guide

This guide explains how to flash control board firmware on Antminer devices using a TF (SD) card. Firmware flashing is a sensitive operation. Incorrect steps or power interruption may permanently damage the control board.

⚠️ Important Safety Notice: Always use the correct firmware for your miner model and control board. Do NOT power off the miner during flashing unless instructed.

I. Preparing Tools

1. Hardware

You will need the following hardware:

  • Computer (Windows recommended)
  • TF (Micro SD) Card Reader
  • TF (Micro SD) Card

2. Software

You will need the following software:

  • Decompression tool (WINRAR recommended)
  • control board flashing firmware

II. Making the TF Card

Download the correct firmware package for your Antminer model and control board. Follow the steps below carefully to prepare the TF card.

  1. Right-click the downloaded firmware file and select Extract.
  2. Click OK when the extraction dialog appears.
  3. After extraction, a folder with the same name as the firmware package will appear.
  4. Insert the TF card into the card reader, then plug the card reader into your computer.
  5. Note the drive letter assigned to the TF card (for example, drive E:).
  6. Right-click the TF card drive and select Format.
  7. Select FAT32 as the file system, then click Start.
  8. Confirm formatting when prompted. All existing data will be erased.
  9. Wait until the system confirms that formatting is complete.
  10. Open the extracted firmware folder and select all files inside it.
  11. Copy all files directly into the root directory of the TF card.
  12. Verify that the file names and sizes match the original firmware package.
  13. Safely remove the TF card from your computer.

III. Flashing the Control Board

  1. Power OFF the miner or control board.
  2. Insert the prepared TF card into the control board.
  3. Connect the power cable and power ON the miner.

During flashing, observe the status indicator lights:

  • Both red and green lights ON for 3–5 seconds
  • Both lights OFF for approximately 10 seconds
  • Green light stays ON continuously (flashing complete)
  1. Once the green light is steady, power OFF the miner.
  2. Remove the TF card from the control board.
  3. Power ON the miner again.
  4. Log in to the miner backend to verify the firmware version.
⚠️ After flashing via TF card, always remove the TF card before rebooting. Leaving the card inserted may cause repeated flashing or boot issues.
